Vapour Corrosion Inhibitors
or VCI protect both Ferrous as well as Non-Ferrous Metals from corrosion
and rust. VCI protection may be administered to metal components
through elements of packaging and preservation. Paper is one of
the principle elements used in packaging.
Special VCI impregnated papers have been developed at Suprabha for
packaging of metal components. These are both single as well as
multi-layered. They are ideally suited for stuffing, packaging as
well as over-wrapping of semi-finished or finished Ferrous, Aluminium,
Aluminium Alloy and certain Non-Ferrous metal components. Multi-layered
sheets are tear- resistant, woven HDPE-backed and laminated. These
sheets may be used in the form of pouches or boxes with moisture-resistant
and pressure-proof protection to the items packed. The effect of
VCI could last for months, often years. The paper creates a field
of VCI up to a distance of at least 30 cm hence the packing doesn’t
have to be a close or contact fit.
Salient Features
• Dry method to protect and prevent the rust from
intruding into the metal
• Recessed areas and interior cavities of the metals are also
protected.
• Conform to IS - 6263 and other intl. specifications.
• On contact with the metal, the VCI paper does not leave
any residual film or layer.
• Protection against rust during storage as well as transit
as per requirement.
• Protection duration between 6-24 months or even more if
required in ambient atmospheric conditions.
• Replenishing action of VCI vapours will protect the component
against rust if the VCI paper is punctured or torn.
• No extra procedures, economical, non-polluting and environmentally
acceptable for carefree disposal.
• Packed items remain factory fresh and in a ready-to-use
condition use condition on reaching the destination.
